Local riders had a real treat this past weekend at the Raven Hill Farms Dressage Clinic with Silver Medalist, Steffen Peters. It was a full house of auditors and riders over the two days, with perfect weather for the event. With an emphasis on the fundamentals of relaxation, elasticity, and proper self-carriage of the horse, he challenged the riders to work to the necessities of each horse. There was much time spent on the small things that often times are overlooked to the detriment of the horse. In his own words,
“Like I always say with every horse, we want to find the right frame and the right tempo where they become comfortable.”
